I gave my old PC to my bro in law and he wants to upgrade the video card. Can an AGP 4X / 8X card work on an AGP 2X / 4X motherboard?|||It may or may not run.
AGP 2.0 (4x/2x/1x) uses 1.5 Volts and AGP 3.0 (8x/4x/2x/1x) uses 0.8 Volts. There is a chance that the video card with support both voltages but most likely the voltage difference between the two standards will cause you problems (instability at the very least).|||Yes but it will run at the 2x/4x speed.
