Will an AGP 8x/4x Video Card work on a motherboard that supports AGP 4x ONLY?

I know an AGP 8x/4x card says "4x" (of course), but maybe the 8x part will cause it not to be compatible? I'm no newbie to computer hardware, I rather be safe than sorry. Thanks!|||It should work fine. 8x/4x means it's 8x, but also backward compatible with 4x systems.

Cheers :)|||yes, it means it will work on eihter|||yes must work|||Yes as I have actually had an 8x AGP video card work in a 2x motherboard quite successfully.|||It works, it'll just be set max at 4x AGP.
